Meet Sharon Nixon Crenshaw

Sharon is the Chief Advocate Officer at the Caregivers Empowerment Network, where she champions the needs of caregivers across the country. With decades of experience in healthcare supply chain consulting and emergency response, she brings unmatched insight to high-stakes environments. Sharon’s work spans disaster preparedness, federal procurement, and inventory optimization—always with a focus on advocacy. Her personal journey as a caregiver fuels her mission to build support systems that uplift and empower those in caregiving roles.

From Humble Beginnings to a Voice for the Voiceless: The Journey of Sharon Nixon Crenshaw

Meet Sharon Nixon Crenshaw, a dynamic leader from North Carolina whose life work is defined by advocacy, resilience, and strategic empowerment. As the Chief Advocate Officer of the Caregivers Empowerment Network, Sharon is known for her hands-on approach, community-first mindset, and unwavering dedication to caregivers navigating high-pressure realities. But her path to leadership wasn’t paved overnight—it’s a story marked by discipline, reinvention, and deep purpose.

Laying the Foundation: Education and Early Career

Sharon’s commitment to serving others took root early on. She pursued her Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal Technology from Central Piedmont Community College, where she gained skills in research, systems thinking, and meticulous documentation. These foundational strengths would later become instrumental as she ventured into supply chain management, healthcare logistics, and advocacy.

Her professional journey began at Conbraco Industries, where she spent over 15 years mastering operational processes and data systems. As a Core Cleaner and Data Base Manager, she developed a unique blend of grit and precision—traits that became the hallmark of her leadership style. Later, at Ansco & Associates, she took on the role of Office Manager and Supervisor, further sharpening her administrative and team leadership abilities.

Sharon’s early career reflects a pattern of consistent growth and a desire to bridge efficiency with purpose—an approach that would later define her legacy.

Becoming the Backbone: A Shift to Healthcare Supply Chain

In 2006, Sharon transitioned into the healthcare supply chain industry—an arena that would allow her to merge logistics with meaningful impact. She joined Management Health Solutions, Inc. (now Syft Corp), serving for a decade as Supply Chain Supervisor. In this role, she restructured inventory processes, implemented electronic audit systems, and led diverse teams across high-demand environments.

Her accomplishments were measurable and mission-driven. Sharon led initiatives that reduced expired item issues by 90%, improved audit accuracy by 98%, and introduced data-driven solutions to elevate hospital operations. Whether coordinating special projects or building incentive-based programs for staff, her focus remained on sustainable systems and human-centered outcomes.

This experience laid the groundwork for her later ventures into emergency response and consulting.

Frontlines of Crisis: Leading During the COVID-19 Pandemic

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Sharon didn’t hesitate—she stepped directly into the epicenter. At Vizient, Inc., she was appointed Supply Chain Operations Director for a 125-bed COVID hospital and a mass vaccination site. With just eight days of lead time, she developed and implemented full-scale supply chain operations—while coordinating with FEMA, the Maryland Department of Health, and National Guard leadership.

She led process re-engineering projects, restructured team roles for higher impact, and reduced overtime by 90% within three weeks. Her inventory strategies improved accuracy and cut cycle adjustments by 45%.

“There’s no room for delays when lives are at stake—clarity, action, and compassion must lead the way,” Sharon often reflects.

Her leadership in the middle of a global health crisis became a testament to her courage and command.

Entrepreneurship with Impact: Crenshaw Business & Resources & EZK Inventory

Determined to expand her reach, Sharon founded Crenshaw Business & Resources, LLC., a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) with emergency response solutions at its core. Under her leadership, the firm has delivered supply chain and procurement consulting for government agencies, healthcare systems, and disaster recovery efforts nationwide.

Parallel to that, Sharon has also led EZK Inventory Services, which provides pre-disaster inventory valuation for homes and small businesses. “The cost of not being prepared can break families and businesses. We give them something stronger than memory—we give them documentation, proof, and peace of mind,” she says.

Both ventures reflect Sharon’s deep understanding of risk, response, and resilience.

A Personal Mission Turned Movement: Caregivers Empowerment Network

Sharon’s most personal and transformative endeavor is Caregivers Empowerment Network, where she now serves as Chief Advocate Officer. Drawing from her own lived experience as a caregiver, Sharon has created a national support platform for leaders, professionals, and family members juggling caregiving roles.

Through community building, strategic planning, and emotional advocacy, she and her team provide tools that caregivers need to navigate complex medical systems, legal frameworks, and daily stress. “We don’t just support caregivers—we validate them. We remind them that their role is sacred, not secondary,” she asserts.

The network offers consulting, educational resources, and one-on-one advocacy support. Sharon’s leadership has helped hundreds of caregivers find clarity, relief, and renewed purpose in their roles.

Legacy in Motion

Today, Sharon Nixon Crenshaw stands at the intersection of logistics and love—blending her expertise in healthcare systems with her passion for human dignity. She’s not only transforming how we think about supply chains and crisis response but also changing the narrative around caregiving.

Her journey—from data systems to disaster zones, and now to boardrooms and support circles—is a masterclass in adaptive leadership.

“When systems fail, people suffer. My work is about making sure systems serve people, not the other way around.”

That’s not just a quote—it’s her mission.
