Jackie Porter from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada is a distinguished Certified Financial Planner (CFP, RWM, EPC) whose career spans more than 25 years in the financial services industry. As the founder of Team Jackie Porter and a leading advisor with iA Private Wealth, she has built a reputation for helping professionals, entrepreneurs, and families navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence. Her practice places a strong emphasis on cash flow management and tax planning strategies, designed specifically for small to medium-sized businesses and for individuals navigating major life transitions. Beyond financial planning, Jackie is the host of The High-Earning Women Podcast and co-author of Single by Choice or Chance, a guide empowering women to take control of their financial futures. A three-time Wealth Professional Awards honouree, Jackie continues to shape conversations around financial literacy and women’s empowerment across Canada.
Early Life and the Spark of Independence
Growing up in Mississauga, Ontario, Jackie Porter’s journey into finance began long before her professional career ever took shape. Raised by a single mother who was both entrepreneurial and determined, Jackie learned valuable lessons about responsibility and independence early in life. When her mother passed away during her teenage years, Jackie faced one of life’s most defining moments, learning to stand on her own.
It was in this crucible of challenge that she learned her life’s most powerful lesson, “Never rely on anyone else for your security. Always have your own money.” Those words became her compass. Determined to stand on her own, Jackie worked multiple jobs through high school and university, eventually earning a degree in Psychology and Communications from York University. The hardships she faced gave her clarity that financial independence wasn’t optional, it was survival. That hunger became the foundation of a career defined by authenticity, insight, and purpose.
“I had to become financially independent at such a young age. That hunger to learn about real wealth never left me.”
Entering the World of Finance
Jackie’s entry into the financial world began unexpectedly. After taking a severance package from a telecommunications company, she found herself exploring new directions for her career. A chance meeting with a financial planner would change the course of her life. That conversation introduced her to a profession that perfectly blended purpose and financial literacy. Jackie recalls how empowering it felt to see a woman talking confidently about money, something rarely seen at the time.

“She was telling me that I could actually have money work for me,” Jackie recalls. “That sounded revolutionary to someone who had worked so hard for money all her life.”
That moment sparked a lifelong mission. In 1998, she joined Rol Del Insurance Agency, as an insurance agent, providing advice to clients who wanted a clearer picture of their short- and long-term financial needs. By 1999, she transitioned to Carte Wealth Management Inc., where she would go on to spend more than two decades building her reputation as a trusted financial advisor and Certified Financial Planner.
Building a 360° Approach to Wealth
Over time, Jackie realized her strength lay not only in financial analysis but also in her ability to listen, empathize, and translate complex financial matters into meaningful guidance. That understanding led her to establish Team Jackie Porter in 2018, an advisory practice designed to make financial planning more accessible, and empowering. Her approach emphasizes cash flow management and tax planning strategies tailored for small to medium-sized businesses and for individuals experiencing major life transitions, forming the foundation of what she calls the 360° Financial Process. Her team works across six key pillars: cash flow, risk management, tax planning, investments, retirement, and estate planning, ensuring every client builds not just wealth but also stability and peace of mind.
“We know that people are intimidated by the technicality and formality of the financial industry,” she explains. “Our goal is to simplify it and create a community that feels encouraged to build its financial literacy.”
Jackie’s approach extends beyond financial strategy to life planning, helping clients align their finances with their personal goals, values, and vision for the future. Her clientele primarily includes business owners, legal professionals, and executives, individuals balancing demanding careers and personal transitions who find comfort in her clarity and care. Jackie’s ability to translate financial jargon into real-life meaning has earned her recognition as one of Canada’s most trusted advisors. Discover more here.
A Voice for Women and Financial Literacy
Jackie’s dedication to empowering women is woven throughout her career. In 2016, she co-authored Single by Choice or Chance: The Smart Woman’s Guide to Living Longer, Better, a book written to help women navigate their financial future with confidence. The book, developed with co-author Jill O’Donnell, explores practical strategies for women who are single by circumstance or by choice, addressing topics such as retirement readiness, estate planning, and financial independence. Her advocacy extends far beyond her writing.

Jackie is a highly sought-after speaker, mentor, and educator, frequently invited to speak at corporate and professional events, including The MoneyShow Toronto, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Toronto Lawyers Association’s Women in Law Conference. She is deeply committed to advancing financial literacy for women, mentoring high-earning professionals to build confidence, clarity, and control over their financial decisions. Her insights are also featured across national media, including The Globe and Mail, Wealth Professional, Investment Executive, CBC, Global News, and Breakfast Television Toronto. At the heart of her work is her belief that financial literacy is a cornerstone of empowerment.
“Don’t try to keep up with the Joneses,” she advises. “What’s really important is the peace of mind that comes with having financial stability for the long term.”
This philosophy has become a cornerstone of her message, inspiring thousands to redefine their relationship with money.
The High-Earning Women Podcast: Where Wealth Meets Well-Being
In 2025, Jackie expanded her mission through The High-Earning Women Podcast, a platform dedicated to helping women embrace financial confidence and balance success with well-being. This season, the podcast explores the stories of high-earning women and the lessons they’ve learned along the way, offering a deeper look into the real conversations behind their journeys to financial independence, not just their success stories. The show also highlights the intersection of money, mental health, and leadership through candid discussions with financial experts, entrepreneurs, and wellness professionals.

Through the podcast, she encourages women to embrace autonomy in their decision-making and to thrive on their own terms. “Thriving isn’t about doing more,” she reminds listeners. “It’s about learning when to pause, protect your energy, and build a life that supports both your ambition and your health.”
Episodes like “Burnout and the High-Earning Woman” and “Teaching Kids About Money” have resonated deeply with her audience, reflecting her ability to connect finance with the emotional realities of everyday life. Explore more here.

Today’s Mission: Building Confidence Through Clarity
Now affiliated with iA Private Wealth, Jackie continues to expand her impact, offering holistic financial and life-planning solutions through a collaborative approach.Whether advising high-earning professionals or guiding individuals through life transitions, her mission remains clear: helping people create wealth that supports their goals, values, and peace of mind.
Jackie describes herself as a confidante as much as an advisor. “I love being a confidante to my clients,” she often says, a statement that reflects her deep belief in partnership and empathy. She understands that money is emotional and that sound planning requires understanding a person’s story as much as their balance sheet.
“You deserve to know what’s happening with your money,” Jackie reminds her clients. “If you leave a meeting and feel unheard, you’re probably not with the right advisor.”
Through speaking, writing, and mentoring, she continues to redefine what wealth means, not as accumulation, but as empowerment, purpose, and peace of mind.
