Who’s Laurence Loxam?
Laurence Loxam is an executive coach, strategic advisor, and founder of Loxam Consulting Ltd. He empowers high-achieving professionals especially doctors, lawyers, founders and CEOs — to lead with clarity, confidence and strategic impact through his Elevation Model™ framework.
A Break That Changed Everything
In the autumn of 1997, Laurence Loxam stood on the brink. A recent graduate, newly a father, and flat out of money, he faced a reality that left no room for pride. His days were filled with odd jobs – mixing cement, painting fences, doing whatever he could to stay afloat. Weeks had passed without a single job offer. Then, on the very day Princess Diana’s death cast a shadow across the nation, Laurence received one more rejection. It felt like everything was unravelling.
With borrowed money, he scraped together just enough to buy a train ticket to what would become a life-changing interview. The role was at Topps Tiles. It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t what he had envisioned post-university. But it was a job. A wage. And, most importantly, a leader who saw something in him that others had overlooked.
That belief changed everything.
It didn’t just launch his career, it embedded in him a core principle that would shape his future as a leader, mentor and coach – when someone is given clarity, space and belief, they can rise far beyond their circumstances.
Foundation: Built on Grit and Growth
Laurence’s professional foundations weren’t formed in boardrooms but in trenches. The son of hard-working parents, he learned early on that resilience wasn’t just a trait – it was a requirement. After earning his degree in Business, Management and Marketing from Staffordshire University, Laurence pursued further education with purpose. He completed an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability at the University of Cumbria and later gained ILM Level 7 certification in Executive Coaching – an investment not just in credentials, but in credibility.
But education alone didn’t define his early trajectory. It was grit, humility and an unrelenting drive to learn. Whether he was managing a tile store or building regional sales in agriculture, Laurence showed a consistent pattern – he didn’t just meet expectations, he lifted the standards.
Those formative years gave Laurence something far more powerful than early success – they gave him perspective. He knew what it meant to earn trust, to be underestimated, and to rise anyway.

Ascent: Leadership Forged in Complexity
Laurence’s ascent through multiple sectors is testament to his versatility. At Topps Tiles, he developed a knack for turning underperforming stores into high-performing units, building loyal teams and cultivating a reputation for authentic leadership.
From there, he transitioned into agriculture, beginning a long tenure with National Milk Records (NMR), where he moved from Area Sales Manager to leading the entire U.K. genetics division. He launched the country’s first genomic test for bovine breeding females – a technical milestone paired with a strategic one.
Then came Lely, a pivotal chapter in Laurence’s evolution. As General Manager, he was given full P&L responsibility and a team of 30. More importantly, he was given trust. Empowered by a Dutch CEO with a values-led ethos, Laurence didn’t just manage – he led, coached and transformed. It was here he first experienced executive coaching as a recipient, and where the seeds of his own coaching framework began to take shape.
In senior leadership roles at ForFarmers and Carrs Billington, Laurence sharpened his financial and operational expertise. At Carrs, he managed a €300M business unit with a team of over 100 and full board-level responsibility. In these high-pressure environments, Laurence’s calm under fire and strategic decision-making became his trademarks.
Throughout this time, he quietly built Loxam and Loxam Ltd, a boutique consultancy where he began to shape his coaching methods with real-world leaders – work that would soon take centre stage.
Impact: Coaching Through Clarity
In 2025, Laurence launched Loxam Consulting Ltd, a business dedicated to helping elite professionals think clearer, lead better and achieve more. His target market is clear — high achievers such as doctors, lawyers, founders and CEOs — individuals navigating the often-lonely terrain of high-level leadership.
At the heart of his practice is The Elevation Model™, a proprietary 7-stage coaching framework designed to move clients from insight to impact. His approach blends strategic rigour with emotional intelligence, drawing from decades of commercial experience and personal growth.
“Clarity is often mistaken for control,” Laurence wrote in a recent post. “But control closes doors. Clarity opens them.”
It’s a message that resonates with his clients – many of whom describe his work as “transformational”, “the missing piece”, and “exactly what I didn’t know I needed.”
David Hilldrith, a former client, remarked: “Laurence was passionate and professional… he encouraged you to explore other avenues and challenges. I’d work with him again in a heartbeat.”
Francesca Beswick, a direct report at Lely, shared: “Laurence gave me space to lead and the confidence to grow. His mentorship has shaped my career more than any other influence.”
And Andy Paine, a colleague from NMR, offered: “His combination of strategic vision and tactical execution is rare. He’s a true mentor.”
Whether coaching one-to-one or advising organisations on transformation, Laurence brings the same energy: focused, calm, commercial – and always clear.
Vision: Helping 100,000 Humans Rise
Laurence Loxam doesn’t see his work as transactional. It’s a mission. His goal is simple and ambitious: “To positively change the lives of 100,000 humans.”
His consulting spans multiple sectors, including agriculture, legal, SaaS, and professional services. He supports organisations in strategic marketing, ESG integration, AI adoption and sustainable growth – but always with people at the core.
He sees coaching not as correction, but elevation. Not as fixing broken leaders, but helping great ones rise further.
A lifelong fan of Formula 1, Laurence draws parallels between racing and business – both require precision, timing, pressure management and, above all, clarity.
“The ability to stay calm when the lights go green,” he says, “is what separates chaos from control.”
When Clarity Becomes Culture
Laurence’s story is one of resilience and reinvention, of rising not despite the chaos but through it. From a desperate job seeker to a respected coach and business leader, his journey offers more than inspiration – it offers a roadmap.
He teaches leaders that clarity is not a luxury, but a necessity. That belief can be catalytic. That culture begins with the courage to lead with conviction.
Beyond the Boardroom
Laurence lives near the Lake District in the U.K. with his wife, a Consultant Anaesthetist, and their two young children, aged one and three. Their home is also shared with three much-loved pets — Sally, Jemmia and Mollie. His eldest daughter, now grown up, works as a nutritionist for PepsiCo, forging her own path of purpose and performance.
