The Pacesetter’s Journey: Evg Josephine Akyaa Boateng’s Path of Faith, Fashion, and Human Capital

Founder & Director @ FASCIN8ME | HR & Culture Executive | Ordained Evangelist | Disability & DEI Advocate | Bridging Corporate Excellence with Spiritual Purpose to Empower Global Change

A Divine Mandate for Change

In the Akan tradition of Ghana, names are more than just identifiers; they are prophecies. For Evg Josephine Akyaa Boateng, the name Akyaa carries the weight of the Oyiakwan—the “Trailblazer” or “Pacesetter.” It is a title she has lived into with striking precision. Whether she is navigating the high-stakes boardrooms of the Australian Public Service, styling a client through her boutique consultancy, or standing on a pulpit as an ordained Evangelist, Josephine’s life is defined by a refusal to accept the status quo.

Her journey is anchored by a transformative philosophy she often shares with those she mentors: “Step out of the history that is holding you back. Step into the new story you are willing to create.” This mantra, borrowed from Oprah Winfrey, serves as the heartbeat of Josephine’s career. It is the story of a woman who moved from Takoradi, Ghana, to the global stage, bridging the gap between corporate excellence and spiritual devotion with a grace that is, quite literally, fascinating.

Roots of Resilience

Born in 1986 in the coastal city of Takoradi, Josephine’s early years were shaped by the vibrant culture of Ghana before her family relocated to Sydney, Australia, in the 1990s. The transition between continents required a rapid development of adaptability—a trait that would later become a cornerstone of her professional toolkit.

The most enduring influence of her youth, however, was her late father, Charles Mensah-Boateng. He didn’t just raise a daughter; he mentored a leader. He instilled in her the Serenity Prayer, a foundational text that taught her the delicate balance of leadership: the courage to change what must be changed and the wisdom to know the difference.

“My father taught me to be courageous and bold as a leader,” Josephine reflects. “He showed me that true strength is found in resilience, kindness, and a growth mindset. It gave me the spirit of an activist—someone who isn’t afraid to challenge the system to ensure it works for everyone.”

This early exposure to human-centric values led her to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where she earned a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education, specializing in HR Management. Her career began in the tactile world of fashion retail for brands like Saba and Kookai, where she discovered that “styling” was about more than clothes—it was about confidence, identity, and the way a person presents their value to the world.

A Masterclass in Human Capital

Josephine’s professional climb was nothing short of meteoric. Over 17 years, she built a reputation as a powerhouse in Organisational Development and Culture (OD&C). Her resume reads like a “Who’s Who” of global industry leaders: Ernst & Young (EY), Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, and the BBC in the UK.

Her expertise eventually caught the eye of the Australian Public Service (APS), where she took on high-impact roles within the Department of Defence and the Department of Industry, Innovation, and Science. A career-defining moment arrived in 2017 when she served as a Senior HR Advisor for the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit Taskforce. Working under the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C), she executed people strategies for a summit of international significance, proving her ability to deliver results within the most complex and geographically diverse workforces.

Yet, for Josephine, her career wasn’t just about titles—it was about tools. She became a practitioner of contemporary leadership frameworks, leveraging everything from the Franklin Covey Culture of Trust to the ADKAR change management model. She didn’t just manage people; she sought to transform the environments they worked in.

FASCIN8ME and the Global Mission

In 2021, Josephine synthesized her decades of experience to launch FASCIN8ME. This boutique professional services organization is a direct reflection of her multifaceted soul, offering a unique blend of HR consulting, business strategy, and creative fashion styling.

Under the FASCIN8ME banner, Josephine advocates for a holistic approach to the workplace. She is a fierce proponent of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), specifically focusing on disability advocacy and mental health. As a certified Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor and an advocate for the Mental Health Foundation Australia, she works to ensure that “human resources” remains focused on the human.

Her work is now deeply aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically targeting goals 1 through 5, 8, 10, and 16-17. Whether she is fundraising as a “Charity Superstar” for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre or providing pro-bono mentorship, her motto remains: “We don’t compete; we unite, collaborate, and celebrate.”

This impact reached a new spiritual height in January 2026, when she graduated from the GVA School of Ministry as an ordained Evangelist. To Josephine, there is no wall between her business and her faith. She views her professional engagements as a form of ministry—an opportunity to bring light, peace, and “revival” to corporate spaces that often feel devoid of both.

The 2026 Legacy

As Josephine approaches her 40th birthday—a milestone she views as a “launching pad”—her vision is focused on the horizon. She is currently seeking executive-level roles and board positions where she can apply her “Pacesetter” mindset to global challenges across Australia, the UK, the USA, and her native Ghana.

Her leadership philosophy is simple yet profound: lead with love, act with faith, and always leave a space better than you found it. As she continues to expand FASCIN8ME and her evangelical reach, she remains a steadfast believer in the power of the next generation. Her advice to the leaders of tomorrow? “Leverage your strengths and the strengths of others. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step—make sure that step is taken with purpose.”

Evg Josephine Akyaa Boateng is more than an executive; she is a catalyst. In a world that often demands we choose a single path, she has chosen to walk several at once, proving that when you lead with authenticity, every path leads to impact.
