Jessica Talbot is a multi-disciplinary health practitioner and creative entrepreneur whose career is defined by the integration of clinical psychology, holistic wellness, and functional design. With a professional foundation rooted in the science of the mind and an adaptive approach to physical well-being, Jessica empowers individuals to move beyond “merely surviving” to a state of sustained vitality.
Clinical Roots & Holistic Evolution
Jessica’s expertise is anchored by an MSc with Distinction in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology from the University of Otago. She spent nearly a decade serving as a child psychologist in Australia, where she developed a deep appreciation for human autonomy and the small, daily habits that build self-efficacy.
This clinical background eventually evolved into a more expansive view of health. Through her professional training with Wellness Coaching Australia, alongside studies at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, she transitioned into health coaching, focusing on the “foundational fuels” of wellness: nutrition, movement, sleep, and nervous system regulation. Her current coaching practice, Hummingbird Connection Coaching, specializes in supporting women through menopause transitions and recovery from frozen shoulder—a journey she has navigated personally.
Creative Entrepreneurship: The Squatito Venture
In 2026, Jessica launched Squatito, a brand that merges “bathroom biomechanics” with high-end interior design. Born from a DIY project to improve digestive health, Squatito produces handmade, laser-etched wooden bathroom stools designed to support natural body alignment.
Jessica views Squatito as more than a physical product; it is a mission to de-stigmatize essential health conversations and promote independence in the home. Her vision for the brand includes the “Squatito Tribe,” a grassroots international model where local artisans produce culturally specific versions of the stool using sustainable, local materials.
Resilience & The Global Perspective
Jessica’s professional path has been shaped by significant cultural and personal reinventions. After leaving her clinical practice in Australia to travel across South America, she settled in Argentina, where she mastered the art of “resourceful creativity” in the face of economic and systemic instability.
This journey of healing and discovery culminated in her memoir, Picaflor: Finding Home in South America. Writing the book represented a major personal milestone, as Jessica overcame severe childhood dyslexia to complete the project, proving that the things we once deemed “impossible” often become the keys to our healing.
Core Philosophy
Whether through coaching, writing, or woodworking, Jessica’s work is guided by the principles of compassion, authenticity, and science-backed tools. She believes that health is a collaborative effort and an ongoing investment in one’s future self.
Currently based full-time in Argentina, Jessica works remotely with clients across New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She continues to advocate for a “long, steady, sustainable game” in health, focusing on building capacity and connection rather than enforcing rigid control.
