Breaking Barriers, Creating Change: The Empowerment Path of Lucresia Beler

Who Is Lucresia Beler?

Lucresia B. is a purpose-driven healthcare IT professional, financial literacy educator, and community advocate dedicated to empowering others through knowledge and leadership. With more than 17 years of healthcare experience and a growing impact in financial education, she blends technical expertise with a deep commitment to uplifting individuals, strengthening systems, and creating meaningful, lasting change in her community.

Born to Uplift, Built to Lead

Leadership was never something Lucresia B. pursued with intention. It surfaced naturally in the way colleagues turned to her in moments of uncertainty, in the way groups steadied when she spoke, and in the quiet confidence she carried when guiding others through complex decisions. Long before she entered healthcare IT or financial education, the seeds of her purpose were already present. As she reflected, she realized this calling didn’t arrive suddenly but evolved through every stage of her life. She had always been driven by the desire to help others rise. Each new role, challenge, and opportunity simply revealed another space where her purpose could take root.

A Life Shaped by Service, Learning, and Purpose

Raised with values centered on service, compassion, and personal growth, Lucresia began building the foundation of her career long before she stepped into her first professional role. Her early journey in healthcare introduced her to the needs of patients and families navigating emotionally difficult and unfamiliar systems. Whether she was collecting vital signs, supporting diagnostic procedures, or helping patients feel safe and heard, she discovered something essential about herself she had a natural ability to uplift others through clarity, communication, and care.

Her formal education strengthened that foundation. Completing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management and Organizational Behavior at Benedictine University, followed by her MBA at Maryville University of Saint Louis, she developed an academic lens through which she could understand systems, leadership, and organizational behavior. These experiences planted the idea that she was not only prepared to be part of a system, but to improve it.

Throughout her early career, one truth continued to follow her: she learned quickly, adapted easily, and thrived in environments where she could bring structure, empathy, and excellence together. Her progression from registrar to clinical medical assistant to educator reflected not just skill growth, but purpose alignment. She was moving toward a path where she could create larger, lasting impact.

Building Expertise and Empowering Systems

Lucresia’s rise within healthcare was rooted in curiosity and courage. When the opportunity to transition into healthcare IT emerged, she didn’t hesitate. What began as interest quickly became a passion. She discovered she had a natural aptitude for technical problem-solving, system optimization, and user support. From her first day in Epic, she felt at home.

As she advanced to her role as an Epic ClinDoc Analyst II, she became known for her analytical thinking, her skill in hardware and system troubleshooting, and her ability to explain complex IT concepts with clarity. Even more importantly, she became a trusted partner to providers, nurses, and end-users navigating the technical demands of their work.

Her responsibilities grew to include testing, configuring, implementing new applications, creating documentation and training materials, managing system upgrades, evaluating impact across departments, and ensuring alignment with organizational IT standards and procedures. She handled these responsibilities with the steady leadership and patience that defined her.

But her influence extended beyond technical systems. As Chairperson of the IT Culture, Change & Engagement Committee, she led efforts to strengthen communication, collaboration, and connection within her department. When asked about the simplest action she had taken that made the most difference, she explained, “Being on camera during team calls makes the conversations feel more real. It humanizes the interactions and empowers people to show up fully.”

In her leadership, visibility wasn’t about being seen. It was about helping others feel seen.

Expanding Her Mission Through Financial Empowerment

Even as her healthcare IT career flourished, Lucresia recognized another need emerging across her community financial literacy. She saw families struggling with debt, uncertainty, and the very gaps in financial knowledge that she herself had once faced. When she discovered the opportunity to become a Licensed Life Insurance Advisor, she felt something click.

She realized she could build a business within a business. A calling within a calling.

As she explains, “With the economy changing, you need multiple streams of income. But more importantly, people need to be educated on topics we were never taught. That’s what connects both sides of my work: the passion to educate.”

Her work with Primerica gives families the tools to increase income, become properly protected, eliminate debt, and move toward financial independence. Through financial education, she models the very empowerment she teaches. She helps others regain control of their futures, one conversation at a time.

Her financial advice remains grounded, accessible, and direct. When asked for the simplest guidance she believes everyone should know, her answer was immediate: “Have a licensed professional to work with.”

To her, independence doesn’t mean going it alone. It means finding the right support.

Leading Through Education, Empowerment, and Change

The intersection of healthcare IT and financial education might seem unusual from the outside, but for Lucresia, it makes perfect sense. Both paths allow her to educate, uplift, and give people power over parts of their lives that directly affect their well-being.

Her voice and values also extend into the community. As a VOICES of Black Women Ambassador, a longtime volunteer, a mentor, and the creator of the “Adopt A Bag” initiative providing fully stocked school bags for students in District 186 she remains deeply connected to the next generation. Her work is not only professional. It is personal.

Her favorite quote guides her daily: “Be the change you want to see.”
This quote resonates deeply because, as she explains, “The work I am doing is breaking those negative uneducated generational curses.”

Her legacy is one of change quiet, steady, intentional change.

Guiding the Next Generation of Leaders

Looking ahead, Lucresia remains committed to the mission that has shaped her life: empowering people through knowledge. She wants to see more leaders embrace transparency, courage, and communication.

Her advice to tomorrow’s leaders is simple, yet profound: “Always communicate, even when the conversation can be hard. Hard conversations are the keys to success.”

As she continues advancing in healthcare IT, expanding her financial education work, and inspiring her community, she is building a future where stronger systems and stronger families go hand in hand. She is not just breaking barriers. She is ensuring that those who follow won’t have to climb the same walls.
