The Power of the In-Between: Laura Erdman’s Journey from Senior management to Transformational Coaching

Who Is Laura Erdman

Laura Erdman is a bilingual, ICF-certified career and life transition coach with more than 20 years of leadership experience across global organizations. Formerly a senior marketing and sales leader, she now partners with individuals navigating career and life crossroads. Blending strategic insight with mindfulness and body awareness, Laura helps clients create lives that feel authentic, aligned, and deeply meaningful.

A Crossroads That Changed Everything

Laura Erdman knows what it feels like to stand at a crossroads, successful on paper yet quietly questioning what comes next.

After more than twenty years in leadership, marketing, and sales, Laura reached a season of transition that challenged familiar definitions of achievement. The path forward was not immediately clear. Certainty gave way to reflection. Rather than rushing to replace one role with another, she chose to pause. That pause became the most defining decision of her career.

It was in this in-between space, between what had been built and what was still emerging, that Laura’s calling took shape. Today, as a certified coach, she brings that lived experience into every conversation, supporting individuals who are navigating change and seeking lives that feel authentic, aligned, and deeply meaningful. Her journey is not about reinvention for reinvention’s sake. It is about listening closely, choosing alignment over comfort, and trusting that growth often begins before the next step is fully visible.

Curiosity, Discipline, and Global Perspective

Laura’s professional foundation was shaped early by curiosity, rigor, and a global mindset. Educated in France, she earned a Master in Management with a focus on Marketing from ESCP Europe, one of Europe’s leading business schools. That experience not only sharpened her strategic thinking but also immersed her in multicultural environments that would later inform her leadership style.

Fluent in both English and French, Laura built a career that bridged cultures, disciplines, and perspectives. From the outset, she gravitated toward roles that combined analytical rigor with human connection. Even early in her career, she was less interested in titles than in understanding how people make decisions, what motivates them, and how trust shapes performance.

This blend of structure and empathy became a defining thread throughout her professional life.

Two Decades of Marketing Leadership and Team Development

Laura’s corporate career spanned more than two decades and included leadership roles within globally recognized organizations. She held senior positions at Royal Canin, a division of Mars Petcare, where she served as Director of Marketing and Sales Strategy within the veterinary pillar. Over the years, she also led regional sales teams and managed complex portfolios that required long-term vision, cross-functional collaboration, and commercial discipline.

Earlier in her career, Laura gained international marketing experience at PepsiCo in Paris, working on brand activation and consumer engagement strategies. These experiences reinforced her ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels while remaining grounded in the realities faced by teams on the ground.

What distinguished Laura as a leader was not only her strategic and commercial acumen, but the way she led people. Former colleagues consistently describe her as purpose driven, collaborative, and deeply invested in developing others.

“Laura is an exceptional, purpose driven leader who engages her team and cross functional colleagues to effectively collaborate and deliver business objectives,” shared one former direct report. “She pairs strong strategic thinking with a humble leadership style that makes people want to give their best.”

Another colleague reflected on the environment Laura created, noting that she consistently fostered a positive, supportive culture, even amid high business demands, and encouraged new ideas while helping others grow into confident leaders.

Across roles and organizations, Laura became known for building trust, advocating for her teams, and leading with both clarity and compassion.

The Turning Point: Listening to Discomfort

Despite outward success, Laura began to sense a quiet but persistent question emerging beneath her professional accomplishments. The work was meaningful, yet Laura felt a growing pull toward work that was more closely aligned with her natural strengths, personal values, and the way she most wanted to contribute. Rather than ignoring that discomfort, she chose to explore it.

As she later reflected, discomfort is not a sign of failure. Often, it is a signal that growth is calling.

This period of reflection marked the beginning of a deliberate transition. Laura did not abandon her leadership experience. She integrated it. Drawing on years of managing change, developing people, and navigating complexity, she began training as a professional coach. The decision was both deeply personal and strategically intentional.

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone,” Laura has shared. That belief became the cornerstone of her next chapter.

Coaching with Presence and Purpose

Today, Laura is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, holding the ACC credential. She coaches individuals navigating career transitions, leadership crossroads, and life changes, partnering with them to design lives shaped by authenticity rather than expectation.

Her approach is distinctive in its integration of mind, body, and awareness. in addition to her background in senior marketing and people leadership, Laura is a registered yoga teacher and incorporates elements of yoga philosophy, mindfulness, and body awareness into her coaching. The result is a holistic experience that supports clarity, presence, and alignment, not only intellectually, but physically and emotionally as well.

Clients often describe her coaching space as calm, grounded, and deeply supportive. Laura refers to it as a place where trust allows people to explore difficult questions honestly and move forward with intention.

“Progress, not perfection, is what creates momentum,” she often emphasizes, reminding clients that small, conscious steps can lead to profound transformation.

Coaching in both English and French, Laura works with clients across Canada and internationally, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and professional contexts. Whether someone is leaving a long-held role, redefining leadership, or simply sensing that their current life no longer reflects who they are becoming, Laura meets them where they are.

Vision for the Future: Creating Space to Bloom

Looking ahead, Laura remains focused on expanding her impact through coaching engagements, partnerships with coaching organizations, and international opportunities. At the heart of her work is a simple but powerful intention: to create space for people to bloom.

She believes reflection is not a luxury, but a leadership discipline. Presence is not a soft skill, but a life-expanding force. And transitions, while uncomfortable, are often the moments when people feel most alive.

“We remain the authors of our own stories,” Laura reminds her clients. Awareness leads to understanding, and understanding opens the door to meaningful choice.

Her journey from senior leadership to transformational coaching stands as a testament to what becomes possible when experience, courage, and compassion intersect. In choosing to honor the in-between, Laura Erdman has built a practice rooted in clarity, connection, and the quiet confidence that comes from living in alignment.
