When The World Stopped Seeing Screens, Baoli Zhao Turned Them Into Galleries.

The Invisible Epidemic of Digital Saturation

The digital signage industry succeeded too well. Screens are everywhere now. They line the walls of shopping centers, hover over transit stations, and dominate public squares. Because they are everywhere, they have become entirely invisible. People walk past glowing rectangles without registering a single pixel.

The industry calls it display blindness. It is the inevitable result of prioritizing hardware distribution over human attention. Baoli Zhao spent nearly two decades building the physical infrastructure that populated those spaces. He mastered the manufacturing process. He scaled a massive enterprise. Then he decided to fix the very problem his sector created.

The Architect of Vertical Integration

Baoli Zhao is the Founder and Managing Director of Allsee Technologies and Vieunite. He built a debt-free global manufacturing empire that supplies commercial displays to over 900 resellers worldwide. Now, he is using that massive industrial infrastructure to democratize fine art and eliminate the recurring paywalls that keep masterpieces out of everyday homes.

From Artificial Intelligence to Physical Reality

The foundation of his hardware empire was actually written in code. Before he manufactured physical products, he engineered software systems. He earned a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Nottingham Trent University. His early academic and professional work focused heavily on speech recognition. He works at Keypoint Technologies, developing multimodal input for mobile devices.

In 2006, he saw Sony’s iconic “Bouncy Balls” commercial for the Bravia television and realised that LCD technology was becoming affordable. He believed that developing a simple, easy-to-use digital display allowing retailers to showcase their products and services in shop windows, would bring real value to businesses.

To turn this vision into reality, he founded Allsee Technologies Ltd in 2007, dedicating the company to developing digital signage displays with built in media players. He quickly created four distinct Plug & Play displays, enabling small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to use them easily without the need for complex content management software.

This approach gave him total control over the final user experience. It allowed his customers to adapt rapidly to shifting market demands. The strategy proved highly effective. Allsee scaled globally without taking on outside debt. The company eventually earned the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

He continued to sharpen his executive perspective along the way. He completed an Executive MBA at the University of Oxford. He also became an Associate Fellow at Peking University, teaching practical management to business students. Yet, his massive commercial success created a new complication in the physical world.

Curing the Blindness of Commercial Spaces

The modern public is exhausted by constant advertising. Baoli watched his industry push more aggressive messaging onto brighter displays. He recognized this approach was failing. The public was actively tuning out. He realized the solution was not louder marketing. The solution was cultural value.

“Leaders must focus on solving fundamental human and environmental challenges, such as countering public ‘display blindness’ by offering genuine content value, rather than just chasing technical gimmicks.” He demands utility over flash. If a product does not improve the environment it occupies, it does not ship.

This realization birthed Vieunite in 2022. He wanted to bring gallery-grade art into residential and commercial spaces. But the existing market was fundamentally broken. Competitors offered glaring screens that looked like giant televisions. They also trapped users in endless billing cycles. Baoli engineered a completely different model.

“Historically, displaying gallery-grade art required massive wealth, while digital solutions were plagued by unrealistic, gray screens or predatory monthly paywalls that discouraged long-term adoption.” He stripped away the recurring costs entirely. His team released the Textura Digital Canvas with a lifetime library and a zero-pound ongoing subscription fee.

The hardware itself required a complete redesign. They developed specialized, texture-accurate canvases in 27-inch, 33-inch square, and 55-inch formats. The screens feature a matte, anti-glare display that perfectly replicates physical brushstrokes. They wrapped the technology in real wood frames. The goal was to make the technology disappear entirely.

He then formed critical alliances with major cultural and academic institutions. He secured curation agreements with the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art, National Galleries Scotland, and the RBSA Gallery. He also initiated a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Nottingham Trent University. This academic collaboration specifically researches how biophilic art impacts mental well-being in physical spaces.

He is now pushing this platform into North America and Australia. He is utilizing Allsee’s massive network of global resellers to scale the cultural mission. “We turn this philosophy into repeatable execution by embedding a culture of continuous innovation and social responsibility directly into our core recruitment and R&D strategies.” He is proving that massive digital scale and human well-being can actually coexist.

The Canvas of Everyday Life

The bright glow of a commercial screen is easy to ignore. A textured masterpiece commanding a room demands quiet attention. Baoli Zhao took the infrastructure of global advertising and rewired it to deliver culture, beauty, and mental clarity. He proved that technology only matters when it serves the human experience.
