Alan Rudolph is a Chief Operating Officer and Chief Customer Officer with more than 25 years of experience building post-sale organizations inside enterprise B2B software and cloud companies, most recently holding both seats at Mitratech, where he led the operational turnaround that preceded the company’s $1.55 billion private equity exit.
The Career Arc
Rudolph’s career has run through some of the largest names in enterprise technology. He built and rebuilt global services organizations at Affiliated Computer Services, IBM, Oracle, Polycom, and Sungard Availability Services, working across North America, EMEA, and APAC, with P&L responsibility reaching $250 million and teams exceeding one thousand people. The through line across those seats was consistent: the part of a software company that begins after the contract is signed, onboarding, services, support, training, and customer success, the operation that determines whether customers stay.
That foundation led to a run of senior operating roles in PE-backed software. As Senior Vice President of Global Customer Technical Success at Conga, he launched a global application management services model from zero. As COO of Cendyn, a $100 million PE-owned hospitality software company, he rebuilt customer-facing operations across a $35 million operating budget and four hundred staff. And at Mitratech, he took the COO seat at the moment it mattered most: eighteen months before a potential exit.
The Mitratech Chapter
Rudolph took the Mitratech seat in 2022, inheriting a company with Professional Services margins at nine percent, engineering and support operating as disconnected units, and multiple acquisitions sitting unintegrated, a business whose strategic ambitions were ahead of its operational fundamentals, with an exit on the horizon.
Over the period that followed, he restructured pricing, installed scalable delivery frameworks, and drove Professional Services margins from nine percent to twenty percent in a single year, while reducing global attrition in the company’s offshore Centers of Excellence by more than a third. When the acquirer’s due diligence teams arrived, the operation held up to scrutiny, and the company sold for $1.55 billion with record investor returns. It stands as the headline result of a career spent making the post-sale side of software companies work.
From Operator to Advisor
Today, Rudolph works on both sides of the table he once sat at. He advises software and AI company boards and private equity firms on customer organization health, post-acquisition integration, and exit readiness, serving as an operating advisor to PeakSpan Capital and board advisor to Clear Peak Capital. Through Accelerant Growth Solutions, he partners with CEOs and founders as a fractional operating executive, stepping in to stabilize operations, prepare companies for M&A, or accelerate customer-led growth.
He holds an MBA in Information Systems from Drexel University and a BA in Accounting from Franklin and Marshall College.
What’s Next
Rudolph’s focus is on Chief Operating Officer and Chief Customer Officer mandates at
PE-backed companies where the post-sale organization is central to the value creation thesis, the situations his career has repeatedly prepared him for: a hold period underway, an exit on the horizon, and an operation that needs to be ready for it. The advisory and fractional work continues alongside, keeping him inside the deal flow where those situations surface.
