The Architecture of Excellence: From the Field to the Front Office with Cedric Solice

From Conducting Ensembles to Coaching Executives: Cedric Solice is the Architect of Excellence Redefining the Strategy of Global Leadership

The Strategy of the Stand

In a crowded high school auditorium, a young Cedric Solice stood before an impeachment committee. Elected as Student Government Vice President against the wishes of the “establishment,” he was being targeted on a technicality—a schedule conflict he hadn’t created. His advisor urged him to plead for mercy. Instead, Cedric chose the harder path: he defended his principles with a level of eloquence and conviction that silenced the room. He lost the hearing by a hair, but he won something far more enduring. Afterward, his principal, Dr. Clausen, pulled him aside with a prophetic observation: “I can assure you that you will be more than okay in this life because of what you demonstrated today.”

That moment became the North Star for Cedric’s career. It taught him that leadership isn’t about the title on the door or the gavel in the hand; it is about the courage to stand by a righteous principle when it is most inconvenient. Today, as the Founder and CEO of CLS Leadership Solutions LLC, Cedric translates that same unwavering integrity into a global consulting practice, teaching executives that the most critical move in the “game of life” is the one made with a clear conscience and a strategic mind.

The Family Corporation and the Art of Precision

Cedric’s leadership education began long before he entered a boardroom or stepped onto a basketball court. Raised in a military family, he moved across the United States—from Washington, D.C. to New Mexico and Florida—learning the adaptability required of a global citizen. His mother, a U.S. Army officer, and his grandfather, a three-war veteran, provided a living blueprint of discipline.

He describes his extended family as a “living, breathing corporation,” where structure and resilience were the currency of daily life. This exposure to high-functioning systems was paired with a secondary influence: the arts. Cedric’s background in music performance and instrumental conducting at Syracuse University provided a unique lens for his future work. Whether he was meticulously assembling nameplates in a trophy shop or conducting a marching band, he learned that excellence is found in the details.

“Every trophy you put together was a prized memory for someone,” Cedric reflects. “I took great pride in making sure every name plate was perfectly centered.” This commitment to “centeredness”—both literal and metaphorical—became the bedrock of his professional identity.

Conducting Success in High-Stakes Arenas

Cedric’s career trajectory is a masterclass in the strategy of living. He didn’t just participate in the world of Division I Athletics; he orchestrated it. During his tenure at Syracuse University Athletics, he wore multiple hats: Director of Program Management, Assistant Basketball Coach, and Director of Basketball Operations.

His impact was measurable and massive. He managed $1.4M budgets, revolutionized fundraising from a few thousand dollars to six-figure annual returns, and launched the Peak Performance Orange Leadership Program. His ability to identify and cultivate talent led to three “Top 10” recruiting classes and even an invitation to serve as a Training Camp Coach for the Turkish Senior Women’s National Basketball Team.

However, his progress wasn’t just about the scoreboard. It was about applying the discipline of a conductor to the chaos of sports management. He viewed every team as an ensemble where every “player” needed to understand their role to create a masterpiece. As his colleague Patrick Stewart noted, “Cedric has a genuine passion for learning and applying historically successful leadership models… his natural empathy makes it easy for others to relate to him.”

Leading Today for Tomorrow

In 2022, Cedric pivoted from the university setting to launch CLS Leadership Solutions LLC. The firm is the culmination of twenty years of “lifting the proverbial carpet” to clean the places organizations often ignore. Cedric provides a suite of services—from organizational culture audits to executive placement—that focus on transforming mentalities.

He is a vocal advocate for the “Strategy of Life,” frequently reminding his followers that they must master the game or risk being played by it. “Learn how the pieces in the game of life work and how to use them… Become someone who can finish the game versus a person just playing the game,” he challenges.

His impact now stretches across the globe, from the U.S. Marine Corps and Amazon to senior military officers and WNBA General Managers. He doesn’t just consult; he “galvanizes,” pushing leaders to investigate their own capacity and prepare for a future where the stakes are higher than ever.

Vision for the Future: The Legacy of the People

Cedric Solice is far from finished. His eyes are set on the “hallowed halls” of the nation’s government, driven by a desire to restore the voice of the people as the central focus of the American democratic republic. His aspirations include completing a law degree—not for the prestige, but to wield the law as a tool for justice and enlightenment.

He is also an author in the making, currently penning a book designed to leave a legacy of knowledge that encourages the soul toward excellence. To the next generation, his advice is simple yet profound: “Chase value, not the dollar. Increase your value by increasing your knowledge, skill, and expertise.”

Cedric Solice lives by the motto of his firm: Leading Today for Tomorrow So Others May Excel. He remains a man of deep faith and unyielding principle—a leader who understands that while the game of life is complex, the rules of integrity are remarkably simple.

Editorial Note

Cedric Solice’s journey reminds us that leadership is an art form that requires the precision of a conductor and the heart of a servant. Whether he is advising a CEO or mentoring a student-athlete, his message remains the same: you are the architect of your own strategy. Are you ready to make your move, or will you continue to be moved? Reflect on your own “impeachment moments” and find the courage to stand on principle—because as Cedric’s story proves, that is where true leadership begins.
